Bryan Bagley · Hobbyist developer
I build games and software experiments in my spare time, using AI to explore ideas, shape code and assets, and work through the details. The projects here move between cozy 3D worlds, Game Boy Color development, and tools for understanding software.
01 / Selected work
How does a small world behave? How can a tactical decision become easier to read? What can the evidence tell us about a program? Each project gives me a different way to explore.

Game Boy Color / Development preview
A tactical dungeon game where the next decision starts with understanding the threat. Inspect an enemy’s locked intention, move out of a threatened lane, or choose a directional Guard. The small screen makes readable information part of the design, alongside the rules of each encounter.

Game Boy Color / Research prototype
A research workbench for exploring what is inside a Game Boy Color game: how its code behaves, where its artwork lives, and how the pieces fit together. The handheld’s memory banks make that puzzle especially interesting. By connecting code analysis with emulator observations, I’m working toward small, understandable parts that can be edited and rebuilt.

I like to start with one small idea that can become something tangible: a crop that grows, a turn that makes sense, or a piece of code that becomes easier to understand. Then I build on it, trying things out and adjusting the details. Mossbrook’s simple farming loop gave me room to explore a modeled 3D world. Dungeon Shift puts the focus on clear choices and the character of a small screen. Each project is a chance to learn something new and make the next version a little more thoughtful.

I’m a hobbyist developer drawn to story-driven, turn-based, and cozy games.
